Nippon Kaiji Kyokai, also known as ClassNK, with it's Head Office located in the City of Tokyo, Japan, established on November 15, 1899. Although, compared with other Societies a relative young Society, ClassNK managed to become one of the major classification societies and a key player in the Maritime world, with an outstanding reputation with all stake holders. ClassNK offers a wide range of services to improve Safety at Sea and to prevent Pollution to the Marine Environment. These services include among others:

- Statutory Surveys on behalf of Governments

- ISPS Audits
- MLC Inspections
- Approval of Marine Equipment
- Appraisal Services, etc.
ClassNK is directly linked to NKK(Netherlands)B.V. as they are our sole shareholder.
NKK(Netherlands)B.V., previously known as "NKK Rotterdam Office", changed its legal status from a "branch office" to a local legal entity (ltd.) in 2007. Establishing of a Limited Company (BV) was one of the pre-requisites to obtain a notification from the Government of The Netherlands to act as a Notified Body related to the Marine Equipment Directive.
